The Cilacap Regency is a unique and interesting area. Despite being geographically located in Central Java Province; besides using the Javanese Ngapak language, some areas also use the Sundanese language in daily life.

According to the results of the 2024 Village Potential Statistics (Podes):
69.01% of villages/sub-districts in Cilacap Regency consist of several ethnic groups.
75.00% of villages/sub-district residents communicate using more than one language.
