Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced deflation occurred in the Housing, Water, Electricity and Household Fuel groups at -0.03 percent. On the other hand, there are groups whose expenditure is recorded as stable, indicated by a constant index value, namely the Information, Communication and Financial Services group, the Recreation, Sports and Culture group, the Education group and the Food and Beverage/Restaurant Provision group.
The main cause of inflation in Cilacap City is the increase in the prices of petrol, cayenne pepper, red chili, sugar and rice. Meanwhile, the main commodities that are holding back the rate of inflation in Cilacap City include falling prices for purebred chicken meat, purebred chicken eggs, kale, cooking oil and papaya.
The calendar year inflation rate (October 2023 to December 2022) is 2.07 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2023 to October 2022) is 2.89 percent.
