Abstract

In April 2024, Cilacap experienced a year-on-year inflation rate of 2.91 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.15.

The year-on-year inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the rise in nearly all expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverages, and tobacco group by 6.09 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 0.71 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.41 percent; the household equipment, appliances, and routine household maintenance group by 0.94 percent; the health group by 4.97 percent; the transportation group by 2.29 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.29 percent; the education group by 1.74 percent; the food and beverage services/restaurants group by 1.04 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 3.85 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication, and financial services group experienced deflation or a decrease in the index by 0.71 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in Cilacap in April 2024 were 0.08 percent and 1.22 percent, respectively.
