Abstract

In September 2024, Cilacap experienced a year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation rate of 1.74 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.70.
This y-o-y inflation was driven by price increases across almost all expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverages, and tobacco group rose by 2.87 percent; the clothing and footwear group increased by 0.62 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group saw an increase of 1.52 percent; the household equipment, appliances, and routine maintenance group grew by 0.52 percent; the health group rose by 2.74 percent; the transportation group increased by 0.78 percent; the education group saw a rise of 1.78 percent; the food and beverage/restaurants group increased by 1.25 percent; and the personal care and other services group rose by 3.77 percent. In contrast, the information, communication, and financial services group experienced deflation, with a decrease of 0.67 percent, and the recreation, sports, and culture group saw a decline of 0.54 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate was 0.06 percent, and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Cilacap in September 2024 was 0.79 percent.
