Abstract

In October 2024, Cilacap experienced a year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation rate of 1.85 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) at 105.91. This y-o-y inflation was driven by price increases across almost all expenditure groups: food, beverages, and tobacco rose by 3.32 percent; clothing and footwear by 0.46 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuels by 2.03 percent; household equipment, routine maintenance, and services by 0.52 percent; health by 2.74 percent; education by 1.78 percent; food and beverage provision/restaurants by 1.29 percent; and personal care and other services by 4.03 percent.
In contrast, the expenditure groups that experienced deflation or a decrease in index were transportation at 0.07 percent, information, communication, and financial services at 0.65 percent, and recreation, sports, and culture at 0.54 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate was 0.20 percent, and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Cilacap in October 2024 was 0.99 percent.
