Abstract

In August 2024, Cilacap experienced a year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation rate of 1.96 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.64.
The y-o-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the rise in almost all expenditure group indices: the food, beverages, and tobacco group increased by 3.36 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 0.66 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.60 percent; the household equipment, appliances, and routine maintenance group by 0.48 percent; the health group by 3.26 percent; the transportation group by 1.51 percent; the education group by 2.65 percent; the food and beverage/restaurants group by 1.03 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 4.11 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication, and financial services group experienced deflation with a decrease in index of 0.52 percent, and the recreation, sports, and culture group saw a decline of 0.54 percent.
The month-to-month (m-o-m) deflation rate was 0.04 percent, and the year-to-date (y-t-d) inflation rate for Cilacap in August 2024 was 0.73 percent.
