Abstract

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a key strategic data set from BPS that is essential for government policy formulation. The CPI represents the changes in the prices of goods and services consumed by the general public. The percentage change in the CPI, commonly referred to as the inflation/deflation rate, is an important economic indicator whose data quality must be consistently maintained over time. Changes in the CPI are a significant macroeconomic indicator that reflects the inflation rate in a particular region. The inflation rate, derived from CPI changes, is a crucial macroeconomic indicator that illustrates the fluctuations in the prices of goods and services consumed by the population in a given area. The monthly CPI report is submitted to the President, Vice President, relevant ministers, Bank Indonesia, and other related institutions. It is also announced by the Head of BPS to the media, and simultaneously, the data is made available on the BPS website at http://www.bps.go.id. For provincial capitals and other cities covered by the Cost of Living Survey (CLS), publications are presented in the form of reports to local government leaders and relevant regional institutions, as well as in the Official Statistical News format. Specifically, for the CPI and inflation data of Cilacap City, BPS Cilacap Regency has made it available through online media on the BPS Cilacap Regency website at http://cilacapkab.bps.go.id and via the “SICANTIK” app, which can be downloaded from the Play Store. These resources are expected to serve as effective tools for BPS Cilacap Regency to provide excellent service to data users quickly, easily, and free of charge.
